Clément Serveau
Clément Serveau (ur. 29 czerwca 1886 w Paryżu – zm. 8 lipca 1972, Paryż) francuski malarz, projektant, grawer i ilustrator.
Biografia
W latach 1904-1914 studiował w Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Paryżu. Wystawiał w Salon des Independents, Salon des Artistes, Salon d'Automne, Salon des Tuileries. W latach 1907-1909 pełnił służbę wojskową. Następnie zapisał się do Szkoły Rysunku Rondota. W 1913 roku poślubił Yvette Hindermeyer (architekt). Zajmował się ilustracją do książek i tworzył piękne mozaiki. Wraz ze swim mistrzem (Luc-Olivier Merson) zajmował się projektowaniem banknotów i znaczków pocztowych - dla Francji i innych krajów. W 1933 roku w Paryżu poślubił Sarę Sophie Wisoume.
W 1934 roku wyjechał do Grecji. Zaangażował się tam w twórczość postkubistyczną. Brał udział w wielu wystawach i niejednokrotnie został na nich doceniony (w 1936 otrzymał tytuł Kawalera Legii Honorowej). Powstało wówczas wiele jego obrazów. Nauczał fresku na Akademii Sztuk Pięknych. Zajmował się także dekoracją wnętrz pawilonu turystycznego Exposition Universelle w 1937 roku. Wystawiał nie tylko we Francji ale także Szwecji, Anglii, Stanach Zjednoczonych i Kanadzie - wszędzie tam sprzedając z powodzeniem swoje dzieła. Clement Serveau zmarł w Paryżu 8 lipca 1972 roku i został pochowany na cmentarzu Bourbonne-les-Bains. W lokalnym muzeum znajduje się specjalne pomieszczenie poświecone jego twórczości.
