Kamerun

Zjednoczona Republika Kamerunu położona jest w zachodnio-środkowej Afryce i znajdowała się pod rządami brytyjskimi i francuskimi od czasu jej odłączenia od Niemiec w 1919 roku. Francuski Kamerun uzyskał niepodległość w 1960 roku. Od 1995 r. Kamerun używa wspólnych banknotów emitowanych przez władze monetarne Państw Afryki Środkowej.

Banque Centrale

Po uzyskaniu niepodległości przez Kamerun w 1960 r., Banque Central był organem emisyjnym kraju.

Banque des États de l'Afrique Centrale

BEAC powstał 22 listopada 1972 r. i był odpowiedzialny za politykę monetarną lącznie z emisją wspólnej serii banknotów dla krajów Union Douanière et Économique de l’Afrique Centrale (UDEAC) w których skład wchodziły Kamerun, Republika Środkowej Afryki, Czad, Kongo, Gabon, Gwinea Równikowa. W 1999 roku UDEAC został zastąpiony przez Communauté Économique et Monétaire de l'Afrique Centrale (CEMAC). BEAC funkcjonuje do dziś emitując walutę CFA (wymienną z euro).
